I personally can only advise against it. We did it once and received offers from Hinz & Kunz... Especially when painting, I wouldn't do the wallpapering myself if I haven't done it dozens of times before. Filling and sanding is no problem. Gluing textured wallpaper (with structure) is still doable, but a smooth fleece? It might stick to the walls, but to the ceiling? For inexperienced people? I think you'll get annoyed... And I say that as a hobby wallpaper pro. We also have parts of our house painted: 250m2 of ceiling area including slopes and 120m2 of wall area in the gallery: everything from 7k to 12k was offered: - Fill, sand, prime all ceilings, wallpaper with fleece, paint white, acrylic edges - Fill, sand, prime all walls, wallpaper with patterned wallpaper Sounds ridiculously expensive at first, but the painter is fully occupied for a whole month. How long would we need to do it ourselves? Especially since ceilings with increased room height are really ungrateful, not to mention the gallery with scaffolding...

A month for the work? Are you sure? I’d rather say max. 2 weeks. With two painters, maybe a bit over a week. How long will it take us if the whole house is filled, pasted with painting fleece, and painted twice? 3 months?

If you want to plaster directly onto Q2, it will probably look rather rough overall / with a garage flair. For living space, that wouldn't be anything for me.
We have textured wallpaper on (slightly sanded) Q2 plastered and wouldn’t do it that way again.
The rooms with strong texture look okay, but we also used wallpaper with lighter texture (non-woven fiber) in places, and where the wallpaper is thinner, it looks pretty poor. Especially the ceilings. You see any unevenness under the plaster much more intensely than before because the wallpaper stretches over it like a kind of tent.

Overall, based on our experience, I have come to the conclusion that you can’t avoid sanding (at least to Q3) if it’s supposed to look somewhat decent. So, you can live here, no question, but if you look at it for a long time, it bothers you quite a lot over time.

If you meant me by that. We will have everything plastered, sanded, and painter’s fleece glued everywhere (except the bathroom walls). Then it will be painted twice and ceiling moldings as well as baseboards glued. The quality is more Q3 than Q2 for us. The Turkish crew already managed to get it very smooth with the lime gypsum plaster.
