And
Why are you dissatisfied?

We were recently in a rental apartment where the plaster was smooth like a baby's bottom but if you touched it, it left marks... but no idea what kind of stuff that was....
With our current one, you really have to hit hard for something to come off and I'm sure no fleece will help you if you’re banging around with the end of a ladder...

Q3 and painter's fleece are the best combination for me.

Q3 as a base creates a nice wall picture.
Fleece hides cracks.

I would always do it that way.
We completed a small antechamber without fleece (eventually laziness won). There we have 2 visible cracks. It's interesting to observe, but in the living rooms that would be a no-go for me.
When the area is painted again, fleece will definitely be applied.

5 craftsmen, 7 opinions. In the end, you have to decide regarding appearance, costs, time, possibly own work....

We are currently having painter's fleece applied to reworked Q2 walls. The painter filled and sanded some unsightly spots here again - about 15 hours of work.

The remaining walls were then cleaned again from plaster residues, sanded, and wallpapered and painted with 150 grit smooth fleece.

The result is really great and completely sufficient for us. We wouldn't have wanted to pay the extra cost for full-surface Q3 anyway.

I would, if it is my own property that I live in myself, apply a full-surface fabric filler and do Q3 filling. Then a good paint on top and done. But I can also do it myself and don’t have to pay anyone a lot of money. It’s always the "what can I live with and what can I afford" issue.

It was new to me that there are statistics about the execution of Bavarian interior walls for home builders in the Free State. But maybe that’s the job of our Minister of Home Affairs – he has to do something sometimes as well. We have – by the way also in Bavaria – decided on a Q3 filling + painter’s fleece. Q2 is definitely not sufficient in my opinion for a property that I live in myself – there are supposedly plasterers who deliver Q2 like Q4 without even realizing that they are selling their work significantly undervalued – so here we are talking about Q2 according to the usual regulations. Painter’s fleece simply to prevent cracks and to make later modernizations/rearrangements of the walls easier.

We have fleece in the living room, the rest Q2 to Q3 done by ourselves. Miserable work. Our fleece is quite thin and therefore does not work wonders. The wall still needs to be filled beforehand. An alternative would be [Rauputz].
