At first, when reading the initial post, I was also immediately surprised by the salary. However, the explanations about it are understandable and very likeable to me: Always flatly saying that the salary is too low without knowing the reasons behind it. It is sympathetic and wise that for you, not only money rules the world and makes you happy. It is also the employer, the environment, the commute, or the circumstances themselves. I always say (and live by it): better to be happy in a small company than unhappy in a corporation. Of course, the money has to be enough to live on, and then you have to admit that the owner-occupied house is congruent with equity/salary and therefore is not so lavish.
You are still relatively young, and you are not pressured by the desire to have children. Furthermore, it seems that you do not yet really know what type of living situation suits you. What you probably do know is that you do not want to live in the city, you prefer to commute. Therefore, in your place, I would pay attention to all types of living situations in the desired but larger radius, including condominiums, rental houses, etc. During this time, consider whether you are even garden people. Or whether a townhouse or ground floor apartment can also provide comfort. Being childless, you have many options, more than parents. You have more time to invest. During this time, you can still save. You still have a few years. I also assume that prices will correct somewhat. But I am not a fortune teller.
