because part of the barn is on our property and the other part is on his. the barn he built in 1945 with the previous owner of our property. that’s why our question, do we have to ensure that his part of the barn remains standing. theoretically, we can't be held responsible for the fact that he built the barn together with the previous owners back then. expert, no idea. it’s actually construction law. maybe ask a lawyer?

He has half a barn that he uses and wants to keep. It stands on his property. How do you come up with the idea that you could just tear it down?
If you want to tear down your part, you have to make sure that his part stays standing.
According to the sketch, you’re even lucky that it is so small. Leave it standing, use it as a garden shed or similar.

That’s not possible, we want to build 2 houses on the property, which is easily possible in RS with the building authority, etc.
House 1 next to the neighbor’s semi-detached house and House 2 standalone at the back of the property.

The barn definitely has to go ;)
