I'm glad we went with gas. Just for comparison: same wall construction, 200 sqm heated area = €50 per month.

LWWPs are poorly set disguised electric heaters and when properly adjusted the biggest ecological lie of the industry.

You can buy the house, but the risk is that, as already mentioned here, the underfloor heating was badly installed. You can adjust the pump; there is probably still some potential to improve. The only question is how much... above all, you have to have the time and willingness to learn the system. Heating curve, supply temperature, and a lot of patience will then be your best friends.

You also have to set the heating curve and flow temperature for gas to heat efficiently. Otherwise, there is nothing to add.

Thank you. The agent says that this electricity bill includes on the one hand the costs of heating and on the other hand the costs of hot water. And with that, it wouldn't be so high anymore :-) I have to take a closer look at everything. Incorrectly installed underfloor heating: How can I check this? Is that even possible?

Nope. It's under the screed, incorrectly installed just means the pipes could be closer together. If there are bigger gaps, the heating just has to work a bit warmer. That wouldn't be a problem, it just costs energy. The question is, since you’re clinging to the technical details like a typical man, does the house otherwise fit in price, location, and features? Then this heating system is just the bitter pill to swallow. The wall structure is up to date. Karsten

Sorry, but incorrectly installed would mean at too great a distance. This means that the heat pump has to provide a supply temperature that is too high. And heat pumps work extremely inefficiently under those conditions. That could only be fixed with considerable effort. Hot water is only an excuse if the system has a circulation that provides 60-degree water 24/7.

Maintenance contracts that include adjustments and fine-tuning can be concluded for heat pumps just as for gas heating systems. Or you can have someone come once to do this (if the installing company has no idea). No one needs more or less time for this than with other types of heating. However, it is advisable to choose a craft business whose professional training did not end at the master school 40 years ago.
