I can only share one experience with you. Our children live in a similarly sized house with an air-to-water heat pump from [Junkers].
The heating installer apparently had very little experience with those things. February and March electricity costs were 450 euros. The son-in-law was frustrated, he hadn’t expected to give up gas. He gave the heating installer a hard time, asking him to finally send someone who knows about the system. There was no one in the company, not even the boss. So, he sent the [Junkers] factory service. The result was incorrect settings and installation errors.
After corrections according to [Junkers] specifications, it now runs much more efficiently. The problem was with the hot water preparation. The house has no solar thermal system for that. However, the heating ran in such a way that it produced shower and bath water purely with electricity. With four people taking warm showers in the household, that gets expensive. So, maybe it’s just poorly adjusted. Investigate, take someone with you who knows about such things. Karsten
