We were faced with the same consideration, then went to four pool companies in the region, read a lot in forums, and then decided to participate right away in the new construction. So we went to the construction company with the purchased pool and architect’s plan so that it would be included from the very beginning. Our experience so far: The construction company has no interest in the pool at all but has to take it into account because we brought it as part of the house construction from the start. Therefore my advice: Talk to the construction company early on, prepare your nerves for the plumber, electrician, and earthworkers, who all reluctantly communicate with the pool people in our case, without exception, and keep asking the site manager whether he has the coordination of the pool in mind (otherwise he might assume, as in our case, that you are somehow taking care of it yourselves :) To realistically estimate the costs, I would recommend discussing all costs with both the construction company and the pool companies, as quite a few additional expenses came up for us (drainage, electricity, connection to the house, construction-side services, etc.). We are in Munich, so of course take our prices with caution, but here you can get a setup pool or just the pool shell from the internet without installation, filtration technology, or cover for 10k. The cheapest offer we got here for a 7mx3m pool without earthworks came from Desjoyeux, it was 50k (which did not convince us visually for the money), the mid-range offers are around 60k (plus earthworks and connection costs to the house, with electric cover but without counter-current system or other extras, only compass ceramic shell, the pool company quoted about 10k extra for earthworks and connection costs) and the really nice pools from Riviera or a concrete shell with foil would have come to a total volume of 80k-100k. Where are you building and what are pool prices like in your area?
