The material is now fixed. It will be a pool made of waterproof concrete and it will be painted with pool paint. According to the pool builder, this is the solution that makes the most sense in terms of cost and durability. The pool technology will be housed in the basement 3 m away. There is a large, hardly used basement room, from which a small chamber will be separated by drywall.

Regarding the pool cover, since it was also discussed here: A rolling safety cover will be installed that does not touch the water. It will be supported by aluminum pipes resting on the pool edge. Since the pool is only 6 m² in size, I consider this the most sensible solution. The cover will be rolled up with a hand crank. I did not want unnecessary and complicated technology; it’s not worthwhile for such a small pool.

I still have to think about the sensible usability of the pool in winter. However, the pool will probably simply be shut down in winter, i.e., the water lowered below the skimmer and no cover.

Can you please give a ballpark figure? If 6x3x1.5m in concrete+liner+automation+cover etc. comes to about 60k, how do you estimate the surcharge for stainless steel? What kind of steel is that, 1.4404/V4A? I have a lot of experience with steel construction and standard stainless steel isn't actually that expensive... We are also planning a pool for our house (more like 12x3x1.5) and we much prefer stainless steel over liner. One more question: why 12°C in winter and not less? Since we don't have gas, a heat pump for the pool is necessary, so I have to manage the energy carefully.

Depending on the manufacturer (it is usually V4A, a few crazy ones also use V4S). Cheap (or should I say cheap) ones also use V2A, which is actually not suitable and only works for a while through passivation.
Price factor for the basin is about 2-3. The remaining technology stays the same. Usually, more automation and better components are used in more expensive pools, which drives the overall price even higher.
At your size, you will probably already reach nearly six figures.

The 12 °C is because of the cover. At lower temperatures, not enough heat gets through to melt snow and ice on the cover.

Or just drain under the inlet nozzles, retract the cover into the water and cover the pool with foil. Then you don’t have to heat at all.

Brief update from us: We have now scheduled three consultation appointments. Two companies have a very good reputation in our circle. One of them let us know that directly. A third company manufactures the basins themselves from polypropylene (PP). Can someone enlighten me on how the material compares to GRP? Do you have tips for the initial meeting? We are fairly clear on size, technology, and equipment. What else should we do/not do, address/not address? :)

Let the pool builders make proposals first. This way you get a feeling for how and with what they work. After that, you can still express your ideas regarding technology. Let them explain the advantages and disadvantages of the construction type.

PP pools are welded from panels. Thus, there are visible weld seams. PP pools can also be heated to high temperatures without problems. They require more stabilization, i.e. concrete. GFK is freer in design, for example curves. They are more stable. PP is somewhat cheaper. The material is softer.

GFK is more durable and can be repaired and repainted. But at the end of its service life, it is absolute hazardous waste. Classic boat building material (if you are not building with wood). Neighbors of my parents have had their GFK pool since the 80s. Polypropylene is not really repairable and depending on the quality, I would estimate the durability at a maximum of 15-20 years. But theoretically, it can be recycled.
