It can certainly be cheaper! Our offers were all around the same range, a cost driver was always the covering, which can certainly be done differently. And then it depends on the manufacturer. French pool manufacturers, for example, are said to be significantly cheaper overall, by how much I don't know, the shown pools were not an option. We also got an offer for a natural pool as an alternative, but that would have been even more expensive and would have required significantly more maintenance in use, so that was ruled out as well.

I would definitely get quotes, but ask about realistic additional costs for excavation and drainage. The Riviera pools are super beautiful, but also in the absolute top tier. You can definitely save on the cover; an electric roller shutter cover that floats on the water costs 14,000€ alone (hier:). In hindsight, I also saw that some landscapers offer GRP pools from various manufacturers, or alternatively excavation, concreting, and then working with a liner. I have no experience with that, but it might possibly be cheaper than from a company that only does pools and targets a corresponding clientele.

Absolute top class are stainless steel tanks welded on site. ;) From a certain size, I would skip GFK finished tanks and go for masonry. Then put in a proper liner.

I consider 40,000 euros to be difficult for that size. Just for the pool, yes, but rather not if you want an electric cover. That is definitely useful because it keeps the temperatures in the pool better, but keeps dirt and children out. However, with children, I would always look at a glass cover that can be driven over, not just the "Rollo". We have pool experience, and I have not found the follow-up costs to be dramatic; an investment of around 60,000 euros with the mentioned key points and without own contribution is a different matter altogether.

Thanks again! I think we will look to get two to three quotes, compare them, and see during our financing discussion what is possible price-wise. For example, I also do not want to do without reasonable and secure coverage. It would be really great if it works out, but it's no big deal if it doesn't.

I am also just thinking about planning a mini-pool (more like a kind of seating pool for chilling). The view from the spot is wonderful, the garden is definitely big enough, so ideal conditions. Once the house is built, heavy equipment would only be able to get into the garden by detours.

The desired size would be 3m x 2m x 1m (LxWxD). Why so small? I don’t need it for swimming, there is a lake nearby. Really just for sitting in and relaxing. With up to 6 people. A small pool is easier to clean and heat. I am planning a heat pump anyway, I think it could be well used for that in the summer.

I am still undecided about the material. I thought it would be easiest to have the thing excavated and concreted right away during the shell construction. Inside then tiles, possibly with green-blue mosaic stones. I find that the most beautiful.

What do you generally think of the idea? I would expect costs around 20k, but I have (still) no idea what kind of pipes, pumps etc. are needed. For such a small pool, a manual cover would be sufficient, I think.
