We had spoken with a pool builder who said that you still sink slightly into the water with the cover, an adult of course more than a child. We also have three small children; a cover would probably not be the optimal solution for me compared to a glass cover on top. That would additionally have the advantage of keeping out dirt and maintaining the temperature in the water. The cover does that to some extent as well, but probably each time worse than the closed cover.

We have already tested the roller blind (more precisely, my husband with over 80kg!) and you do get wet feet, but you don't sink much if you have installed an edge. With very small children, I still wouldn't risk it, as they can drown in just a few centimeters of water. But by the time we move in, the youngest child will be over 4 years old. Then it's enough that they can't fall into the water. (If it's open, they would never be outside alone anyway).

A glass cover definitely has advantages, but I don't think they look nice! The pool will be right next to the kitchen/dining room, so I want the cover to look simple. But of course, safety is priority number 1!

Exactly. Keep the water at 12 degrees and the problem is none. Or just keep it at operating temperature and use it even in winter.

I'll join in here. I also come from Unterfranken (Aschaffenburg area). We have finished building the house and are now planning the outdoor area. The topic of a pool is therefore only now relevant for us.

That already sounds very interesting. Can we exchange ideas about this?

Unfortunately, too late. You could/should have planned it much earlier. Things like wall penetrations, water supply and drainage, heating for example together with the house instead of an additional one, technology completely frost-free installed in the house...
Still, we are happy to help ;)

In the house I have no more space for technology, but in the garden there is plenty. :)
