Plot selection - How and why would you decide?

We had thought to place the carport and the driveway at the northern street corner. According to my understanding (though I am not an expert), you are allowed to build right on the boundary there again because it does not lie between the front building line and the street boundary line. Then the carport would be completely outside of the building envelope. But I would have also somehow assumed that as a matter of course. So thanks for the hint – I will ask the city again!! If that is not possible, the plot is definitely dead.

For the house, we are currently planning with a footprint of 8.5 x 11.5 meters. So the short side facing the street/east.

But with a small floor area ratio, you can't place a 6x9 meter carport just anywhere. I know that’s absurdly large, but that’s my husband’s condition for building. Finding other properties is difficult. Either the prices are double or we have to wait another five years or so. The development plan for the next areas hasn’t been decided yet. And these are in the same location. By the way, it’s only a federal road in a rural area. Not comparable to the B1 in Dortmund. But noise is of course still there...

But with 6 plus 3 m, the plot must be at least 17.5 m wide. Does that fit?

That fits. However, if the distance of three meters for the carport is really necessary, we would not take the property. We do not want to build over the south side. In general, boundary construction is allowed for carports, so I need to inquire again about the location...

Plot 1 is probably out of the question anyway.

But, plot 4, the width is not visible. Plot 3, for example, is only 16.5 m wide.

Carport on boundary = 6 m
House = 8.5 m
Distance from house to next plot = 3 m
--------------------------
= Total 17.5 m

Good point, thanks! No. 4 will be tight, you’d have to put the carport behind the house and then have a very long driveway...

Oh man, I’ll have to move things back and forth again.
