Building regulations are sometimes a bit strange. It can also depend on the position on the property where you want to build your carport.
We need to designate two parking spaces on the property, which are directly in the driveway at our place. If we want to have a carport over them, we need a building permit. But if we build a carport directly next to the house, it is exempt from approval because it is legally considered a third parking space.

I never said that construction should take place without a building permit. You need it anyway. You should also trust yourself overall and apply accordingly if it is necessary.

Do you then also have to submit the structural analysis?

Our garden shed as well as our carport are from the hardware store and I would buy both again immediately. Both have now stood for a good 8 years and neither the shed nor the carport have any damage. If you are really afraid something might go wrong, you simply screw a few additional screws and brackets to the carport, but it is really not necessary.

We now have 2 offers Scherer 3.6 m x 9 m with equipment house, glulam, aluminum roof with anti-drip: ~4300 € Mr Garden 3.6 m x 9 m with equipment house, glulam, wooden roof for ~3400 €. I think we will take the Mr. Garden carport.
