Don't go into defense mode right away, I'm asking honest questions and don't want to embarrass you or anything, I'm genuinely interested in the answers and your experiences. I also have no space in the house and have already thought about where and how I would place a battery. Wrapping it in insulation in (my garden shed) was also an idea. That's where I ran into the problem of overheating. But if you don't have any problems with that, it probably isn't that bad? Otherwise, air conditioning might really not be such a bad idea. It wouldn't have to cool to a comfortable 20°C like a frost guard but only prevent the temperature in the insulated box from going above 40°... and then you could also do without the frost guard and just have the air conditioning in there. Are there air conditioners where you can set such a large range? Like do nothing between 5 and 40°, but heat under 5 and cool over 40? That would be interesting...

I just put the unit into operation.... and for me it stands in the garage... in the garden house I can imagine it probably really gets too warm, but in the garage? I will gladly report back in summer... if necessary the cabinet door will have to come off in summer. Damn, I made the mistake and out of panic switched electricity providers too early... was afraid they wouldn't take me anymore... now the old one raised to 33 cents and the new one to 43 grrrr

I doubt that the air conditioner is worth it. The garage should not get over 40 degrees, nor should the house. A closed insulated box is of course a completely different matter, you will probably grill the battery if the garage gets warm in summer and then the battery itself is used extensively. I would definitely open the box in summer.

I would now like to order the BYD Premium HVS 7.7 storage. But I fear it is not compatible with my inverter from SMA (STP10.0-3AV-40). I can't reach anyone at SMA and my installer is currently unavailable. Why does there have to be compatibility issues again? In BYD's list, only the SBS from SMA and the STP SE are listed. In the end, can I not use the battery at all?

SMA has not had hybrid inverters for very long, meaning inverters to which you can connect not only photovoltaic modules but also batteries. This hybrid is the SE, if you don't have it, you need a separate inverter for the battery. Whether that makes sense remains to be seen...

Thank you for the info. Now I got it. It’s really annoying. Having to buy another separate inverter again would be ridiculous. Are there any other options to find and operate an LFP battery with my setup?
