Photovoltaic Battery Storage - Market Check Fire Hazard

Most e-cars heat the battery before or during charging. I have not heard of this happening with home storage systems.

That is why we built a kind of insulated cabinet around ours plus the frost guard … it should not get below 5 degrees in the garage ….

It had to go into the garage because the photovoltaic system is also on the garage ….

Would you rather choose the 7.7 kW storage or the 10.2 kW storage from BYD? Price difference a mere 2,000 €. The 10.2 storage, however, has become available for delivery within 1 week, unlike the 7.7 kW storage. Currently, I could still fully charge both storages when I see what I feed into the grid daily.

Roughly estimated: 2kWh on 100 days a year at 40ct -> 80€/year. 2000€/80€/year -> 25 years

I would take the small one if it also arrives reasonably soon.

I have the 10.2 and could handle a bit more. It’s a matter of the size of the photovoltaic system so that there is still enough left to store.

Financially, retrofitting is difficult to justify at the current prices anyway. With VAT deduction, funding, and depreciation, it looks completely different with a joint purchase.
