He just even offered my wife to take the storage unit back and install it at another construction site. But I wonder, is there really a better alternative that makes you feel safer? Even if it is a LiFePo battery. I mean, lithium-ion battery storage systems also have safety mechanisms, don't they?

No, I would now claim that the only alternative for your wife to feel "safe" is no attic at all.

Or alternatively install a fire protection door to the equipment room ;) Normally, these things don't explode. Even less so in a house than in a car, because a house doesn't drive into a tree. In that respect, the fear is irrational and you can do little against irrational fears with rational arguments.

I mean, there are external storages. But they are much more expensive and probably less efficient (frost protection?). Or banish the storage to an insulated garden shed with frost guard.

Meal time,

I also have a V 3 (from Senec) installed in the utility room. No one knows what will happen. Only in March was the device put into standby rather quickly. After a detailed inspection, the storage was slowly reconnected to the grid after about 5-6 weeks. Since the storage is constantly "monitored" by Senec, we actually feel quite secure. I also don’t want to do without it anymore. It has been doing what it’s supposed to do for "almost" two years and has accompanied us well through this time. Everyone should assess for themselves whether they want a storage system.... since bidirectional charging is not yet available to us, we will not purchase an electric car for now. Then the matter could become more attractive again.

For me personally, storage only makes sense when the electricity price rises significantly (I am still at 27.5 cents), with emergency power operation, as an external storage (or at least in the cold roof (I have no more space in the utility room)) or with bidirectional charging in the BEV. Or of course when it simply becomes much cheaper (100 EUR/kWh?).
