No no, I also put it in "" - value in the subjective sense.

Well, the thread is about personal contributions - why do people always have to say that they let everything be done and just want to clarify that such houses are also "worth something"? Nice financial situation - still, I would want to do a lot myself there. For me personally, it’s about the feeling and also simply not having to put all the money into external work. I think you’re the only one who has thought so one-sidedly.

I don't care whether you think that way anyway. I just don't feel like letting the construction steal my free time. And I just can't relate to this described ominous feeling – I only want it to work afterwards and for the 20, 25 years in the house to be right. I see the construction purely pragmatically and completely free from self-fulfillment.

We are building from June and will be on vacation during the construction when the daycare is closed. And the way to the construction site is just too far. And I don't enjoy it either. For these reasons, having everything done is the ideal approach for us.

Nice that you don't care - still don't understand what you want in the thread

But one question: Is the house your job? This isn't the first time I've heard someone say their free time is more important to them....

I have no children, enjoy doing things myself, and have also worked correctly "under the beautiful surface." I prefer installing window sills rather than sitting in front of the TV, sports come along naturally. The house is certainly not worth more (monetarily) now just because I did it myself. However, the result and the approach count, and these have been approved and deemed good by the experienced construction manager and other craftsmen. I am a trained toolmaker and engineer, I certainly do not have two left hands. Everyone as they please, I would do it exactly the same way again!

Clarify that "I do as much as I can myself" doesn't work for everyone. I found it too self-congratulatory.

The house is just a place to live for me. Not a leisure activity.
