That’s not true. As I already said: I have different views than Katja. But I look at life with open eyes and don’t close them just because I currently don’t have the money. For example, I don’t hate overseas cruises just because they’re too expensive for me. I handle my opinion openly and transparently and don’t need to sugarcoat my life. I’m not, you’re not important here at all. Neither am I. “You” are just one thread among many today that can be answered. Actually, today you’re rather fading into the background. And when I write my opinion to Sunshine or Katja, you’re welcome to read along and reflect on what you actually want. You didn’t ask for this, but one doesn’t have to explain nowadays how a forum works, and precisely because of that it is very successful. While the discussion about your house was already hashed out earlier this year, you can now engage in a bit of small talk :D

If I understood correctly, he doesn't have much choice there. The sidewalk comes directly in front of the house, and at least one parking space has to be on the property. Which I actually think is right, because there are too many cars parked on the streets. But then the only option left is to integrate the garage into the house. And then you have a narrow space at the front and half a floor at the back. That doesn't exactly call for moving the kitchen to the ground floor.

I also know the approach of living upstairs and having the garden downstairs from a few hillside houses in Valais. As soon as a few larger bushes grow downstairs, the view is blocked. But from the balcony you can see over everything.

It’s rather the other way around. Hardly anyone still uses the roof terrace if they have a real terrace on the ground floor. One must not forget here that the "roof terrace" is only 2m deep. So it’s more of an elongated balcony and not a terrace. You can’t sit here at a table with guests. It’s already difficult enough with the family. And then we’re back in the courtyard, where for every butter or cold wine you have to run two floors up to the roof. What also has a somewhat strange impression is that all guests have to pass by the bedroom if they want to get to the living area. This can lead to interesting encounters, especially with the children’s friends.

You can really make a problem out of everything here. One thing is clear: in the city, the apartments in the attic are simply the most popular. Do they not realize something you see here, Katja? Who would want to sit in the dark courtyard behind building fronts and 2-meter-high privacy walls. And with a 2m wide roof terrace, you can definitely place a table for 6 people or even a long beer garden bench set. No problem at all.

Perhaps a few pictures of the surroundings and a complete property plan would save us much of the discussion.

But the beer fridge on the ground floor is stupid again, if it rains and the boys have to run to the attic living room to watch football, then go down a floor to pee and then another one to get more supplies... From a certain age and with the expected steep stairs, I would rather go somewhere else, at least if I’m not the driver :D

(Sorry for the OT ;))

PS: This also applies to parents/grandparents for Christmas dinner, when junior breaks a leg and the "I'll carry you up and down the stairs, dude" phase is over, at the first slipped disc,... Then you would automatically temporarily live in the guest bed in the utility room between laundry and beer fridge right next to the garage on the ground floor (if I remember the thread correctly...)

I wouldn’t find that so great. But that’s just my opinion – no offense, dear OP!
