Hello Düne, yes, that's roughly how I imagined it with you. However, with a problematic plot, one should move away from the idea that the largest window areas, i.e. floor-to-ceiling windows, must only face the garden/terrace. The terrace location, or garden location, is planned at the back with you... that can also be designed and accessed from the kitchen/dining area. But living spaces like dining and living rooms should preferably capture the light, so they should also be oriented according to the sun. One usually plans ancillary rooms like entrance, cloakroom, WC, and hallway preferably in the north/east. What speaks against that with you? You spoil yourselves with the driveway/garage in the south, sacrificing the beautiful and useful natural light inside! You could bring light into dining and living with floor-to-ceiling (partly fixed) windows, kitchen then just with a terrace door to go outside... Would a driveway from the north/west be possible according to the development/design plan? The consideration stands because of your concerns about the light, which are also justified.

Something like this.. I have moved a few things around...
but I would also reconsider the wardrobe/staircase question, as others have said.
This is just meant to give an impression of the main rooms, if the plot allows it.
But beware: I am an amateur ;)

...surely also a possibility, but somehow I don’t really like the whole thing overall. I can’t really imagine it, but this cramped dining room is a bit scary. Shouldn’t this area be planned a bit more spacious and brighter? It’s just a technical drawing, a layman finds it hard to imagine. And on the upper floor we only have narrow rooms, who likes that... obviously the architect, or am I exaggerating!?

The division of the ground floor as one large room and the upper floor with various bedrooms is apparently set in stone. In this respect, the scope for thread participants is quite limited. Expecting many more suggestions is optimistic. And designing an open staircase in the living area, although there are 3 children's rooms (so probably 3 children), is to put it mildly, not of this world. The children and their friends ALL pass through the main living room. The tiny guest room upstairs should be eliminated and instead used as an additional children's bathroom.

With a narrow plot, you only have limited options. You have an architectural design that originated from some specifications we do not know. It is assumed here that a few points bother you... If you want a new design with a different grid between the foundation walls, then your first source must be your architect. We can only help you with minor details, partly due to little to no information about needs, the plot, etc., but not with a new floor plan. If you are as sparse with information to your architect as you are with us, next year you will still not have a successful design or you will be sitting sadly in a stylish, yet dark cabin.

Hello ypg, criticism accepted but: I was deliberately sparse with the information. I actually just wanted a spontaneous opinion on the floor plan EG+OG that I showed at the beginning - I like it or I think it's sh... I realize that it is very difficult to imagine the apartment/house based on a technical floor plan drawing. But that's exactly what it's about now! Will we experience a nasty surprise if we agree to this floor plan and later are dissatisfied or is everything consistent... architects are only human too and can be wrong!...
