Well, it's good to have mentioned that too! It really isn't nice - even if beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

that should actually bother every architect. Especially since it is the view in the middle. Which, according to the floor plan, cannot work.

Yes, in the view she is further to the right in the middle of the floor plan. I will insist on a change then, it's probably better. Is there a visual difference between a cutout and a "normal" building application? So what do I have to pay attention to so that it is also submitted as a cutout? Do you really think the dormer will be that ugly? I'm afraid it will be very difficult to convince my wife again to get rid of the dormer.

Whether you want to build with a cutout was a question and not a suggestion; I would clearly advise against it here. What do you mean by "visual"? The dormer which you call a dormer here is already rejected by the development plan—clearly, octagonal, and with drums and trumpets. Making a real dormer out of it would probably not be allowed to be shown before 10 pm, that would be extremely unappetizing. However, it would at least be possible in conformity with the development plan, as explained.

Why is this not a dormer? What would be a real dormer then? A cross gable is a cross gable, isn’t it? And according to the development plan, that’s not allowed, which is why we have to stick with the [me in my opinion] dormer? I mean, can I tell from the building application (the paper I submit to the building authority) whether it is a free-standing element, because we wanted a free-standing element.

In my opinion, you are free to do as you please as long as you do not deviate from any point of the development plan. Your architect should know that.

If the roof overhang of 50 cm is drawn, that should rather pass. What does the development plan say about the execution of the dormer?
