Our sampling appointment is approaching, so I would like to ask you for some feedback. I know it is a completely normal, boring house, but it suits us.

Attached you will find our house views from the four cardinal directions. Could you please say where and how many outdoor lights you would distribute on the exterior walls? I am unsure whether one or two outdoor lights on a 9.40 m wall might perhaps be too few. The house is 9.20 m high including the roof. Without the roof, the wall is 6.51 m high. At a later point, we might possibly have shutters installed, if that is relevant for the distribution of the outdoor lights.

The blue dots are initially the mounting locations I proposed. Facing east and west, I initially have two outdoor lights planned each, facing south and north one each. Our main terrace will be on the west side. On the other three sides, at best small seating areas, but they will be more garden than terrace.

There will also be various other lighting fixtures in the garden between the plants, but how and where this will be will only become clear with the planning of the outdoor facilities. Maybe we will "attach" solar-powered gutter lights to the rain gutter as well. But that will also be at a later point.

I can say how I do it: One on the front door. One on the terrace. I have no needs regarding the house(itself) presentation. If I want more at some point, either solar lights will be stuck there or my father-in-law will extend the cable.

When I drive through the new development areas here and look at the house lights, I would personally wait for the result of my plasterer... The wave landscapes that are partially illuminated there, I would not want to accentuate.

I would approach it completely differently. In which areas do you stay and which areas are just passageways. We have equipped every facade with two lights and motion detectors. The light only turns on when someone walks by and only shines on the facade, so indirect light that is sufficient for orientation and helps the cameras. Only the terrace we let shine into the room.

That is indeed an important point! Fortunately, we had a capable exterior plasterer. ;)

I like to have the walkways well lit, and if you are sitting on the terrace with guests, there should also be enough light if needed. That’s why we planned our lamps similar to what is shown here. I might consider placing the lamps on the terrace a bit further apart or just adding two more.

We will also revise our lighting on the house in the coming weeks. Some dark areas will be illuminated with corner lights. Perhaps that might be an idea for you as well?
