what is that in the bathroom xxl shower or XL bathtub?
Do storage rooms for your hobbies upstairs even make sense?
Is the office really an office for work or more of a dog salon?
Why do the dogs even need their own room?
A clear separation between work and private life is missing
The multipurpose room downstairs feels like an oversized kitchenette

Hampshire, thanks for your great ideas! The upper floor has been adjusted accordingly, matching with 2 variants that I like much better than before (especially the one with only one guest office; in the other, the SW doesn’t recognize that the office and our bedroom are 2 separate rooms. Yuck.). I now dedicate these to you :) We would only copy the ground floor practice anyway, so it would be a possible variant to have only 1 guest/office room.

Problem: I’m afraid that cannot be realized architecturally! Because the upper floor would be considerably smaller than the ground floor, it would look like a capped hood. Which wouldn’t be accepted in BY, but probably also elsewhere :D

Exactly, we also had the variant with "chill/living room upstairs" in mind! Not least because we basically prefer being upstairs rather than downstairs. Only, I would then want to drastically reduce the living space on the ground floor (we want to try to shrink the whole house), and there would be no space left, for example, when guests come for dinner.. We also "probably" want to continue using both ground and upper floors in the future, and only rent out the practice as a self-contained apartment. But it could also be that we emigrate to a warmer place and the problem doesn’t arise :)

In the bathroom, it is an XXL bathtub

The storage rooms are currently still too small/few, I fear, since we will no longer have a basement.

The office is only for occasional writing of invoices, etc. In practice, the dogs are not allowed there at the moment, since I also work invasively. But I love having them nearby, so such a room is a good compromise, even in the current house. Also, when patients are there, I prefer them to be further away (barking..)

Where is the separation between work/private missing?
Own entrance, soundproof walls and door.. what else would you need for a clear separation? Personally, this is completely enough for me :)

We will still work a bit on the living room arrangement, so ideas are welcome. How would you do it without increasing the living space?

I would probably make the dressing room a cozy bedroom, with the bed under the slant, dog room with open storage as a living gallery. Can't that also be used for guests? Open-plan kitchen with a small kitchen couch. In any case, you have to plan a wardrobe at the entrance. You don't go back upstairs for shoes and jackets. The area that welcomes you privately is far too short.

Office for fees is back upstairs in the private area

And something is missing downstairs.
If you prefer to be upstairs, take guest and office/dog downstairs. There is still space for a small kitchenette for the barbecue party

Upstairs cooking/eating/living with open roof truss, sleeping, sauna, bathroom, dressing room
A shower is missing upstairs

Storage room downstairs.

Bathroom and sauna seem very large to me

Thank you all! We are letting everything sink in calmly... at the moment I get dizzy thinking about the different options. :P Maybe we will integrate the sauna into the bathroom, that was even the original plan
