Which flooring is suitable for underfloor heating?

Then you should glue it down. And then vinyl or parquet would be better.

I already thought that, our current cheap laminate is really loud, especially when the dog comes in. We can still hear the dog 3 rooms away when he’s walking around.

So let’s focus on vinyl or parquet. (probably nothing else fits the budget anyway)

What do you think of the parquet manufacturer Parador?

I feel like I’ve searched all the shops and the cheapest parquet is from Parador or Hori? Does the price also correspond to the quality or do they have a good price/performance ratio?

Which manufacturer can you recommend from your experiences with parquet?

We were recently out looking for parquet flooring, and in that context, we talked with the seller about price developments. He said the price for design flooring has dropped recently and the trend is still downward. He mentioned prices of currently around €38 per square meter for Meister country house planks. So you wouldn’t be too far off from your €35.

I can't say anything about design flooring and the manufacturer itself, as I haven’t dealt with that.

The installation costs exceed the material price of the floor.

Of course they do. Sanding - priming - floor leveling/filling - sanding - gluing. For us, excluding the floor covering but including all other materials (adhesive, filler, etc.) it's also 43€ gross. Vinyl costs just under 20€ per m² after some negotiation. And I've already compared well. I also had offers here (including floor covering) of 110€ per m².

You want to outsource painting work, right? Can't you ask the painter for favorable purchasing conditions for the click vinyl? There should be something doable for 30-35€ in his specialty store. That certainly isn't ideal, but at least within budget.

Finding vinyl flooring for 25-35€/m2 is not the problem.

Finding click parquet for that price is more difficult

In my experience, design flooring is often PVC-free vinyl on a carrier board.

What I would have liked to install over our underfloor heating is concrete. There are "by now" many manufacturers producing cement materials that are specifically made for this purpose. What I recommend is: Sven Backstein, from the Moertelshop.

Mineral material is the "rightest" for underfloor heating. The covering should insulate as little as possible or conduct heat as well as possible.

It may be that the above recommendation is more expensive than you planned, but for such projects, I think one should review their priorities and see if something else can possibly be done cheaper or even omitted. The floor is what you stand on :cool:
