Me neither. Could you read it again

I like the visualization, but openness also has disadvantages... especially when you have children who also lead their own lives.

Office upstairs ... what else is supposed to go upstairs? Unfortunately, there is no completed list. I see the office upstairs possibly becoming rather cramped.

OT: Hehe, I think we just don’t understand each other at all again.
I just wanted to say that I wouldn’t try a standard with narrow houses either. It’s always something special. Whether you emphasize it or not, at 8m I’m not so convinced yet. At 6 to 7 it gets interesting.

It would have been cramped or unsuitable with the external dimensions of your first floor plan.

That would be the worst solution. Then you are automatically obliged to maintain it and constantly have to deal with 6 co-owners.

That means a 2.5m boundary distance. That takes away the possibility of a garage you might want later.

which would be at most 2.9m to the boundary. With the privacy screen you want, it certainly would not invite lingering, and the view from the dining room would also be poor.
Attached are your version and my counter proposal:

PS: With the 2m lines in the attic, it is likely to become a full storey, unless the roof pitch remains under 25°.

If the entrance is in the north, no garage fits there anyway and even 2.50m would be too narrow.
Or did I misunderstand you?

I was told that with the neighbor's construction burden, 2m would also be possible. His house is supposedly 3m away.

For the south terrace, I'm not so much concerned with lingering; the west terrace also gets southern sun. I'm more concerned about the light that I would largely want to block out.

And for that, 3m distance minus privacy screen should be enough, right?

But you are right about the view from the dining room... good point!
