After you have installed the Miele@mobile app on a mobile device, you can perform the following actions:

– remotely control your household appliance
– retrieve information about the operating status of your household appliance
– retrieve notes on the program sequence of your household appliance
– set up a Miele@Home network with other WLAN-enabled Miele household appliances

I told you. Just as helpful as an app for my jeans:

[*]Open and close the jeans button from the mobile device.
[*]Retrieve information about the wearing condition/degree of dirtiness in real time.
[*]Create a network with my sweaters and T-shirts, as long as they are from Levis.

And now I'm frying myself a scoop of ice cream.

Bye!

That is indeed debatable... no question. So far the only meaningful one: indication if salt is missing, within the KNX visualization..

That's exactly the level manufacturers currently label as "smart." A ton of apps for unnecessary functions without any real added value. And when the coffee machine gets an app soon, it'll have a plug added to it too.

Coffee machine/automaton makes sense. In the past, people spent hours "trying out" the right settings, e.g. for latte... amount of coffee, amount of milk, amount of foam, coffee temperature, milk temperature, and so on... now you simply download "recipes" and try settings from other users...

And I, the fool, make filter coffee with the parameters: type, grind size, amount of coffee grounds / amount of water, water temperature. Done. A bit of tinkering, done.

Seriously: why should I shorten the rewarding part of the process (figuring it out myself)? I could have all my food delivered, but I don’t.

Why things like coffee preparation, which you can consciously use to slow down the stupid everyday life, should be optimized with computer assistance, doesn’t make sense to me.

Let me know if I start sounding like Karsten...
