Hello everyone,

I am new here and am currently planning a single-family home.

At the moment, it is purely the planning phase, so nothing is fixed yet (except for the plot).

I have a question regarding funding possibilities for energy-efficient building and the subsidy for biomass systems through BAFA.

Specifically:
A KFW 55 house with a pellet heating system and solar thermal energy is planned.

The loan is to be partly covered by the KFW subsidy for energy-efficient building.

The question is whether I can additionally apply for a subsidy for biomass heating from BAFA or whether this is already covered by the Efficient Building program at KFW.

Another question is how high the BAFA subsidy currently is for new buildings and whether the subsidy only covers the material or the entire contract value.

Thank you very much

Hi

Both can be combined like that. That’s how it works for us too.
[Bafa] promotes with fixed amounts. For solar funding in new buildings with one or two residential units, a 50% coverage rate is required.
If the building envelope is not that bad, you are probably not far from [KFW 40].

Hi,

thank you very much for the quick response.

I have heard that starting from 2020 there will be percentage-based funding. Could that be true? Or does that only apply to old building renovations?

The building envelope is planned with TV07 brick 36.5cm
2 full floors with concrete ceiling and insulation on top
Basement walls insulated
At the moment, I like the Internorm KF 310 windows best.

I don’t know how far this is from KFW 40, but the energy consultant will calculate that during detailed planning.

That is correct. Since yesterday, new funding guidelines apply. New buildings will then be funded up to 35% (including heat pumps on the entire installation including underfloor heating).

Why no heat pump? No criticism, just want to understand where the advantage of a pellet heating system lies?

I had the question about the heat pump as well.

I do not want an air heat pump. (bad experience regarding additional heating in the cold season)
A groundwater heat pump is not suitable due to the groundwater level.

And the main reason is that I want a high-temperature radiator in some rooms. (e.g., bedroom, bathroom, basement) and that would not be possible with a heat pump, as far as I know.
