I am not outrageous at all! We wouldn’t have done this if there was no subsidy here. Our construction company had kfW55 as a standard anyway. Of course, you have to see what you can afford and what not. So, of course, we also factored in the subsidy. Why should I hire an energy consultant if I cannot make use of his services? With the subsidy, I would have accepted it because he also did all his work completely and we actually benefit from it.

And can this now be compared to the photographer? At least there you have something tangible. But we don't! Because under these conditions we can no longer build kfW40+. So for us, the work done so far was for nothing (of course he has done his previous work), for us the whole thing was for nothing!

One can inform oneself in advance about the entire process. If you want to tackle a project like building a house, you need some competence. If you don't have it, you can get help. If competence or time to familiarize yourself with the topics is lacking, then in case of doubt it costs money. The energy consultant is not the KfW sponsor who takes you by the hand and shows you the way to the 30k grant. He calculates the house energetically. Nothing more. That is his job. You do have the calculation. That is what you commissioned.

But that you did not receive the funding is not yet the fault or the problem of the energy consultant?

Sure, unfortunate, but I don't think the contract states that the invoice is only to be paid if funding is granted. This is an independent order without a contractually guaranteed positive outcome, right? If that is the case, pay.

People were probably spoiled with the funding in recent years because it ran alongside and was taken for granted and it always worked out.

What “tips” did we get to plan with a granny flat because of double funding. From the house sellers.

Still, all the best. Regards

Apart from the fact that the confirmation of application (BZA) clearly states what needs to be done to apply. Either enter it in the grant portal or forward it to the house bank. Depending on which funding is desired.

If someone has no time or patience to read the confirmation of application (BZA) due to a death in the family, that is understandable, but they must then also live with the consequences.

I just quickly googled whether there is a similar fee system for energy consultants according to LP, as there is for architects. Unfortunately, I found nothing and therefore cannot assess whether the amount you are demanding is reasonable or not. Perhaps another forum member with insider knowledge can provide a well-founded opinion on this.

I see the possibility of politely and kindly discussing with your energy consultant whether he can reduce the amount, since from your perspective, measured against the price for the overall effort of the house supervision, it is very high. Possibly there is some room for negotiation or he can grant you a discount for immediate payment or something similar. Maybe knowledgeable forum members can contribute an assessment of the previous effort of your energy consultant.

Furthermore, you can always contact consumer protection and inquire there about what is considered reasonable from their point of view. They may have comparable cases on file.

I am sorry that you and your family are also among the victims of the changed conditions and I keep my fingers crossed that everything will run better from now on. All the best for your construction project.
