50% after window installation is somewhat ambitious, but not that far from what is actually possible. Our construction contract provides for an initial payment of 48% after roofing, with 5% held as a security deposit according to the Building Code. Another 17% after heating installation and sanitary/electrical wiring and window installation... Short version: I personally would never accept the mentioned offer.

To avoid having to start a new thread, I would like to join in here.

We have received the payment plan from our general contractor, with the following proposal. Discussion and changes are potentially possible if they remain within reasonable limits.
What do you think about it?

Payment step Percent Cumulative percent
1. After contract signing 2.4%
2. Concrete slab laid 8.0% 10.4%
3. Ceiling above basement concrete 15.4% 25.9%
4. Ceiling above ground floor concrete 16.0% 41.9%
5. Completion of shell construction / roof 16.0% 57.9%
6. Completion of windows / interior plaster 16.0% 73.9%
7. Completion of interior work 16.0% 90.0%
8. Completion of exterior plaster 5.0% 95.0%
9. After acceptance 5.0% 100.0%

Completely overpaid before the expensive technology is installed. But that's how it is with almost everything.

Thank you for your response.

The general contractor was open to changes in the payment plan in the last conversation. What would be your recommendation or for which steps should one go down and where up?
