Is the floor plan for a single-family house structurally realistic?

Hello,
of course that’s possible. Our living room is about 7.5 by 7 m, with one corner cut off. And the living room is also extended outwards, so the upper floor is not neatly positioned on the lower living room walls but on the living room ceiling. That makes the ceiling a bit thicker, for us it’s 28 cm with a lot of steel inside.

Your design should definitely be feasible. A large, open living room might cost a bit more.

But why 50 cm brick walls? That’s quite substantial. That really gives a castle-like feeling.

Best regards,

Andreas

and just saw now:

Yes, the kitchen is really very small. Sure, you can make something to eat there, but somehow it doesn't match the size of the living room.

And to be honest, I don't find the central staircase very practical. It divides the entire house and so half of the ground floor area is pure traffic space.

Many greetings,

Andreas

9m² is already very small. However, it always depends on how much value you place on extensive cooking and baking activities. Otherwise, this (my layman's opinion) should not be too much of a challenge. Our ceiling spans a larger area and it was not a problem.

Ok, then I misjudged. It looks smaller on the draft. Nevertheless, 9 sqm is quite small.

Okay, thanks again for the feedback ;)

I will then take another close look at the size of the pantry (pantry a bit smaller, but the kitchen a bit larger).

: exactly the reason why you don't find the stairs so convenient (they divide the ground floor) was why we planned a straight staircase right in the middle. Additionally, we wanted to be in the midst of the action when going up/down and the possibility to go straight through to the garden immediately also presented itself :). But yes, it is a rather unusual location for the stairs. :)

And regarding the 50 cm exterior brick... that is the plan for now, so we can avoid further insulation. We'll see what it really turns out to be ;)

A smaller pantry hardly makes sense, since there would be no more space in the pantry. Getting rid of the pantry would be the only reasonable option... Even now, it hardly/doesn't work with the sliding door, since the door is supposed to run inside the wall and the passage is wider than the little wall sections on the left or right of it...
