Sure you always manage, but there is a difference between "managing" and "being happy." And nowhere here is it written that children are a problem. Not at all. I don’t understand why one has to rush the house purchase (unless it’s a mega bargain) instead of first adjusting to the new setting and seeing how new needs/perspectives develop. What’s 1-2 years of waiting compared to the probably decades-long repayment of the loan.

If the children come at the push of a button and you don't have to invest a few thousand euros in the desire to have children. This is also happening more and more often.

So financing the 570k with a net income of 5300 is absolutely Harakiri in my eyes. Now let the house become even more expensive and possibly children or something similar, that just doesn't work at all.

A cleaning person, for example, if the woman/man – or both – find(s) that the (additional) house/garden area is actually much more time-consuming to clean and maintain. ;)

The rate is once again too low. There should be a 3% repayment for that amount. That makes exactly €2000 + €400 monthly additional costs. If one can and wants to manage that with 1-2 children over 26 years, then go for it. Otherwise, build smaller.

At 1% interest, the repayment is €1900. 3% is a good value, definitely, but it can be reduced during the phase with children and when the phase comes where both work full-time again, it can be increased.
