Is the construction project affordable? 570 k€ loan with a 5300 € salary

Thank you for the post! I often read here that children are somehow an "obstacle" and I just hope that some people do not feel discouraged about family planning. Children do not have to be expensive. Of course, that also depends on one's own lifestyle. Sure, if I go on vacation twice a year and regularly eat out, it will be more expensive. I agree with the childcare part. You can't influence that much, but many other things you can.

Teenagers are significantly more expensive than toddlers. That should be kept in mind.

How much do you two have together net per month now? As @ypg wrote, the bank is only interested in what your monthly household income is. Vacation and Christmas bonuses are noted but do not pay off the installment for you.

I was just thinking about that too: how much is the salary now monthly, ?

I rather think that I am not a follower but do what I really want and actually need instead of bowing to the societal mass and doing things just because "that's how it should be." That has changed a lot over the past decades... :(

The most expensive time was the daycare period when both cost me around €500 per month for care + food. Currently, with them being almost 10 and 8.5 years old, it’s just a little pocket money + one hobby each. They also haven’t wanted to attend after-school care for a year now (they didn’t even before Corona). It only gets expensive when the teenagers get money to spend. But that can be controlled. Oh, by the way, I have boys. They are easier to handle at this age anyway.
