We have a similar situation but more income. We start with about 2.4% repayment but have fixed special repayments planned (about 5-10k annually), which will only be used in an absolute emergency. This way, we have the flexibility if something bigger and unexpected comes up. Of course, you need to have the self-discipline not to touch it.

, you would probably like to know that. Don’t always take everything personally. The 1% repayment is, in my opinion, irresponsible behavior by the advisor (unless there are special reasons for it, but I don’t read anything about that here). Are you really interested in what I do professionally? Or are you just looking for confrontation? With your salary, I would have expected you to know such things.

Was there a recommendation from an advisor mentioned in this thread? Maybe I missed it. In any case, I am not an advisor :)

Of course, I'm not looking for confrontation. In the meantime, I googled what a risk controller does. I just had to grin when I read your criticism and the profession together :)

I also find your last sentence really funny. So if you earn a lot of money, you have to know that? Then I must be completely out of the norm. Imagine that... I have neither a degree nor a high school diploma :) Just the occasional good idea.

Regards, Steffen
