Yes exactly, then the wrong L stones are installed or even the foot ends up on the neighbor's property.

Well, what can I say.

Yesterday evening I sent an email to the homeowners' association of the access road / private path, and someone called me today.

Since our property used to be a garden at the time, the owner of our property verbally agreed 20 years ago to the relocation of the angle stones toward our property.

There are no encumbrances or other entries or written notes, he said.

We will all meet on the property on Friday to discuss together what kind of solution is possible.

He (holding half the shares of the community) has already assured me that he wants to keep it as uncomplicated as possible and will also inform his tenants accordingly about possible closures of the access road, etc.

It would then have to be clarified, depending on the solution, to what extent the community participates in the costs.

Then, basically, everything old could be removed and everything new could be done...

The verbal agreement is worthless. The points are: damaged SM in the south and support feet installed the wrong way are costs anyway borne by the neighbors. Then one could basically also remove everything old and do everything new. It would then have to be clarified, depending on the solution, to what extent the community participates in the costs.

That I cannot / should not rely on words should almost be obvious! Others did the same 20 years ago, and you can see what can come of it...

The meeting with the owners has taken place.

Conclusion: everyone agrees that "everything gone and new" is the best way.

As for the costs, the owners will share the costs proportionally for the affected area. There are 8 incorrectly placed angle stones. This will of course be fixed in writing.

The angle stones that need to be removed I will also use on our driveway.

Now we are waiting for the offer and then we'll see what to do next..

These are the best possible news, aren't they? Just imagine if someone filed a lawsuit and everything got delayed by another 5+ years. Ink on paper and pop the corks. Even if one might want to cry at the prices.
