Hmm.. I don't want to go deeper, but that's not the issue now. How it came about, etc. no longer matters, because it is the way it is and I don't want to waste energy on things that can't be changed.

I am just looking for a solution that is space-optimized given the circumstances.

Thank you very much :)

Would, could, etc. doesn’t help me now. I can gladly keep it in mind for next time, but at the moment well-intentioned advice about what I should have done differently/better in the past doesn't help me. But thanks, I’ll note it down on the checklist for the next house-building project.

Underpinning is not an optimal solution. But if you want to go to the boundary, then there is hardly any other way.

Do you already have an offer for securing the property boundary? That should have been taken care of better before the house construction.

Sorry, understandable!!! You have to hold back 150cm?! Up to 100cm I would have said 36.5cm concrete formwork blocks with a bit of iron and a proper foundation would work

When we brought this up before the house was built, all construction parties said it could be done later.

And now, the same parties say it should have been done beforehand, as it would have been easier.

As a "first-time" home builder, you obviously can't do anything right. As I said, if I ever build again, I will have a checklist of when to pay attention to what.

Costs mentioned so far range between 40-55k. In one case, paving work was already included, in the other only the retaining was included.

How deep do the existing retaining walls reach?

Can you please make a sketch of the existing structure? Exactly where and how deep they have already been installed. Are the bottom edges of the L-shaped stones already exposed? Photo?

No problem.

Yes, that is also my opinion. Unfortunately, it is too late for that now.

So let's work on solving the problem.

But for that, more information is needed.
