Are there sketches or plans from the contractor regarding the interception proposal?

To prevent the surface from sinking, nothing has been exposed so far. On both the south and west sides, a strip of earth about 1m deep has been left. The angle stones on the south side are about 1m deep up to the middle, after that there are only curbstones. I will try to sketch that. The garden landscapers were on site, looked at it, and so far I have not received any drawing from anyone. Only written offers.

I tried to sketch how it currently is.

Purple = angle supports
Blue = curbstones

At the corner directly at the "Einfahrt Nachbarn," it looks like the angle supports were laid with the foot facing towards our property; there, one stone is somewhat exposed. The angle supports only extend about halfway into the driveway, from there 20-30 cm curbstones continue.

On the south side, the angle supports with the foot are not laid on our property. For about 8 of 22.5 m, the angle supports are 1 m deep. After that, only 20-30 cm curbstones for the rest.

I would design the retaining wall so that you simultaneously have raised beds. It does require a bit more space in depth, but smaller stones could be cheaper (at least that was the case with friends), you have your perennial beds, vegetable bed, herb bed, raspberry plant brought to a back-friendly height. You probably wouldn't occupy more space than with a wall + plants. Additionally, the wall would look a bit friendlier.

What speaks against the Schalstein view?

With a proper foundation and reinforcement, you can easily go up to 1.5m.

But don't take anthracite, the lime leaches out and white spots appear.

There is practically nothing against it. The only question would be whether they hold up just as well as, for example, angle supports?

Circled in red, that was alternatively offered to me by one of the landscape gardeners.
