Install laundry chute in shower?

Is this a new build planning?

Oops... I completely forgot about the new build with that question. It's about sensible initial planning and not about nasty compromises regarding running water and moisture!

Laundry chute is awesome. We also thought about it for a long time, never without it again. It is very comfortable, no noise when done properly. I wouldn’t install it in the shower, that is impractical and hard to keep clean.

It is comfortable to have the washing machine on the level where the laundry is generated. With the shaft, you only save the carrying down. You still have to walk down and carry up...

I would never put it in the shower. It will not be permanently waterproof. It also looks shabby.

Regarding the laundry chute: For us, one of the best things you can plan in the house. I would rather do without the bathroom above than the chute. But of course, both would be optimal now!

Unfortunately, the chute opening in the attic, regarding the location, is a "small" planning error (albeit the only one). Unfortunately, the craftsmen were faster back then and we no longer had any influence on the location of the opening. Now it would be nice if, despite this planning error, we can still find a solution that is as elegant as possible.

A flap with a handle in the counter cannot be an elegant solution. Impossible to clean and difficult to seal.
