Self-built? That sounds interesting.
(We have a dumbwaiter in one of the properties that my employer co-manages, which is used once in a blue moon, and the maintenance and upkeep costs amount to almost 800 euros annually. I’d rather pay myself to carry the laundry – or my child :D )

well, both. I often thought: damn, I have to go downstairs to get the laundry out of the machine. Then I would go down and get the laundry or postpone it until the next opportunity. I wished I could wash the laundry upstairs. But every time I walked downstairs, I thought it was actually good for me to make the effort for daily tasks. And I noticed that even the short exertion of going down 4 flights of stairs did me physically good. It’s like going jogging. You often don’t feel like it, but it’s actually good. I go so far as to try not to have everything terribly convenient. Somehow, that helps me make my everyday life feel more tangible than if everything happens in a snap.

Yes, a few steps are an absolute relief in times of [HO]. When I imagine having the noise and all the laundry upstairs, it would be a nightmare.

Me too :D! How they get lazy and fat there, without any movement and eating that kind of stuff. The trend is already going in that direction for some
