I wouldn't do it. A shower stays damp for quite a while... before I step into the shower and get annoyed by moisture on my clothes/socks, I'd rather carry the laundry downstairs. Nice basket with a lid by the stairs and that's that.

I think, since the shaft is already there, the pros and cons should not be discussed here. There are already enough contributions.

And water that falls in there? The whole thing is way too leaky

Maybe one should just call for a Plan B, e.g. plan the shower somewhere else. But we know too little about the bathroom for that. ?

Freely after Klaus Kinski, "I do not understand the question". The laundry chute is already there and now a shower is supposed to be added? The shown wall is 50-60 cm long on the side. How should the shower be placed "in front" of it now? The wall is not supposed to come into contact with water, and certainly not the hatch. As already "requested," plans and pictures would be helpful. Otherwise, the laundry in the chute will already be washed directly while showering. Don't forget to put a bucket in the utility room. This is a new building! Planning?

You just must never completely empty the chute, then the soundproofing will work.;) Who makes noise in your utility room? It's not primarily about sorting. There is never dirty laundry lying around in the bathroom (in a basket), flap open, in, flap closed, done. And it even works the other way around. In about 2 weeks, it will be washed and ironed in the closet again.:D
