IKEA Metod kitchen quality 2022: Quality and price, experiences?

The fronts of the Ikea kitchen (at least in my case) look spotty and wavy at an angle. Quite the opposite of all other kitchens in my family. The edge banding on the lower and upper edges is machine-applied and processed terribly (inaccurate, at least sanding/polishing should have been done here). I believe my front Ringhult is foil; you probably have to use lacquer. Then maybe it’s better. But my old Nobilia was also foil and clearly better.

Also here pictures of my kitchen unit, planned quite late (or rather replanned), but gas connection and water still just fit ;)

Does Ikea have lacquer fronts?

The haggling (which includes the opaque consultation, "we’ll plan it," the price comes later, then it would have been time to negotiate, among other things) in the kitchen studio was THE reason for me to shop at IKEA, but I didn’t really save money (if I estimate my assembly, travel, etc. time at only €10 per hour).

I am a fan of Ikea kitchens.
(M)One main reason for this: The furniture costs what it costs. A carcass costs xx euros, equipped with shelves at the cheapest costs a total of xx euros; fully equipped with drawers xx euros. Fixed prices. No total price minus daily discount minus bosshasagoodday discount. With Ikea I know what I’m getting into and can decide myself what ends up on the bill – in a kitchen studio (no, I know not all studios are like that!) I always had the feeling of not getting the best price.
By now I have bought 4 (5) Ikea kitchens and have already assembled 4 of them ;)
Careful assembly is important. I can find nothing to criticize about the stability, the hinges hold well, the drawers slide easily and do not stick. Ikea appliances can be good, but they don’t have to be – we have the dishwasher and the cooktop in the kitchenette from Ikea, which work perfectly. In the fitted kitchen of the rented condominium all the appliances are from Ikea – the tenants are happy.
In my opinion, the expandability also speaks in favor of Ikea. Maybe the same fronts won’t be available after a few years; but at least the interiors can be gradually expanded (as long as Metod still exists...).
So far I have always bought the cheapest or second cheapest fronts because they were either sufficient for the purpose (laundry room…) or simply the ones I liked best. So far I have had no problems with coatings wearing off or the like.

I think Ikea is great … but how do you realize [eine kücheninsel] or a [hochgestellten Geschirrspüler] without completely losing it??

I currently have an Ikea kitchen and somewhat regret it.

I have also posted a review including an Ikea cabinet which was relatively expensive If my entire kitchen were this quality, I would already have a new one ;) Otherwise it’s sufficient for us in the utility room, where a whole kitchen unit is installed.
