For 99% of all people, buying or building a house is a compromise between what you want and what is possible. - A [REH] can be a good compromise. We had one, and it also had no basement. Instead, a nice, high attic accessible by stairs, which we used like a basement. Plus a larger garden shed. Well, it was just under 300 square meters of land, but it allowed for sitting on the terrace, a small pond, some grass, a few flowers, and a clothesline. That was fine. Only the stairs... that is the concept of a [Reihenhaus]. Many stairs. What really bothered me: we had a [REH] according to [WEG]. So, together with three neighbors, we owned the entire roof, the building services, the supply and drainage pipes outside, and the access paths to the front doors. Then, once, of course on Boxing Day, there was a pipe blockage. I called a drain cleaning truck. The cost was something like 400 euros, at least fair for December 26. And two of the three neighbors had no problem splitting the amount four ways. Only one party was difficult, not my fault, I’m not involved... so it goes to court over a hundred euros... then I thought, what will happen if it’s the roof costing 5,000 instead of 100... Be careful not to get a [WEG] construct. My advice. Karsten
