Here, for example, I find it quite successful – modern and country house:

The door is quite modern, though. Style clash?

And if you paint the railing, roof overhang, wooden beams in the red of the garden house and the house white

What is allowed is, as is well known, what pleases. I often see houses with bold colors and then think - looks great, I wouldn't have imagined it.

For your house, I would probably try with foliage. Virginia creeper, wisteria, ivy. I think it's beautiful and fitting for the style. Of course, you must not be squeamish about spiders. We once had that for several years - including a bird's nest on the windowsill after a two-week vacation.

Our current house is clad with larch wood. That would also work for yours.

"Modern" is of course neither of them.

A light plaster and color application around the windows would of course also be possible. So many things are conceivable.

In any case, thanks for the exchange of ideas, and I hope I have clarified our standpoint on the choice of windows :) Overall, for us it was too much visible wood and we would like to somewhat soften it, although that does not mean removing it immediately. And again: it should not become a city villa or anything like that :)

That is why I am currently not entirely opposed to the green railing. As I said, it is an aluminum railing and relatively new, although the brown of the railing/the handrail has already faded quite intensely. I personally would not have been so "bold" with the color choice, but would have chosen something neutral.

That was already discussed. The advantage: if you don’t like it, it can be painted over. What we have also seen is that around the windows about 10 cm of the plaster was smooth. The rest was more coarsely textured.

Doesn’t the facade suffer from that?

No, unfortunately nothing substantial. The plaster simply has to be redone when the growth comes off. With wisteria and ivy, be careful with the downpipes, they can get crushed. Also, don’t let them grow into the roof. One inspection per year is enough, nothing will happen then.
