Why is it still too early?! For us, the base slab will only be done in the next few weeks but I’m already thinking about all sorts of things. Sampling starts around the end of January, by then I would like to have a plan :)

We haven’t even submitted the building application yet. Everything is delayed because of the damn viruses. Olli

Oh, I see... well, fortunately everything has already been approved here. I hope everything will start on time. But worrying about the soil is possible even without a building application.

Please forget about vinyl. Sensitive, smells bad, poor tactile feel, and cheap appearance. Truly the worst flooring after laminate. Better to go for wood-look tiles or planks.

Whether to use a uniform floor or mix depends also on the layout. If it is very open, the same flooring is recommended. If you have more separated rooms, mixing is better. Both have their charm.

Hi, We also once had wood-look tiles in a rental apartment, I actually thought they were pretty cool - only my wife unfortunately didn’t like them that much. :( Durable, look good and not cold with underfloor heating either. It’s also an option, but with us (still) up for discussion... Olli

Is that really the case? I have read that in new buildings the underfloor heating does not radiate in such a way that it feels warm on the feet.
