We have consistently "neutral" tiles (gray). With underfloor heating, it is not cold but also not warm. For us, the decision to use tiles in almost the entire ground floor (except the office) was a good decision in hindsight. Early on inside, we didn't have to be overly careful when wallpapering, painting, etc. Just cover well and done.

Yes, I can gladly do that when it starts. We have decided for ourselves to already think about everything or what exactly we imagine and want. We are also already browsing in hardware stores to get an idea of the tiles we want. Simply so that we don’t stand there at the sampling appointment with no plan. We have also already written down in which rooms we want additional sockets and how many.

Luckily, my husband and I are very much in agreement in terms of taste, and he likes pretty much the same things.

Then just go to exhibitions before the sampling. Simply stroll through bathroom, show homes, and hardware stores, use every apartment, every house you see. Eventually, you learn the other's no-gos.

The mountain in the sampling isn't that big. Just look at your intersection and first of all what's standard or if you know you want exactly that color, then skip the rest.

Why is laminate the worst for you? My parents replaced the parquet in the whole house with laminate 10 years ago and are very satisfied. We are currently wavering between vinyl and laminate and cannot decide. My wife's parents and her grandmother have parquet, and we somehow cannot understand what is supposed to be so great about it. We will definitely get tiles in the hallway, but we don't really want tiles in the living room. We don't find it cozy and it still remains hard even with a wood look :-(
