Hallway and living/dining area same flooring?

We have consistently "neutral" tiles (gray). With underfloor heating, it is not cold but also not warm. For us, the decision to use tiles in almost the entire ground floor (except the office) was a good decision in hindsight. Early on inside, we didn't have to be overly careful when wallpapering, painting, etc. Just cover well and done.

Would you maybe like to start a new thread on the topic of sampling and share your experiences? I am more afraid of the sampling appointment than of root canals or other procedures. Not because of the money, a buffer is there, but because of the large number of decisions that, as I assume, have to be made immediately and in a very short time because someone is standing nearby and waiting. And also unfortunately because my husband and I come from completely different worlds in terms of taste.

Yes, I can gladly do that when it starts. We have decided for ourselves to already think about everything or what exactly we imagine and want. We are also already browsing in hardware stores to get an idea of the tiles we want. Simply so that we don’t stand there at the sampling appointment with no plan. Please forget about vinyl. Sensitive, smells, poor feel and cheap look. Truly the worst flooring after laminate. Better go for wood-look tiles or planks.

Why is laminate the worst for you? My parents replaced the parquet in the whole house with laminate 10 years ago and are very satisfied. We are currently wavering between vinyl and laminate and cannot decide. My wife's parents and her grandmother have parquet, and we somehow cannot understand what is supposed to be so great about it. We will definitely get tiles in the hallway, but we don't really want tiles in the living room. We don't find it cozy and it still remains hard even with a wood look :-(
