this is a new building *Überrsaschung*

(I assume some person said after the finished design: "the windows are suboptimal" and you "adopted" that?)

In my feeling, the windows should not be "optimized".

You could respond to people who criticize the window layout with confidence. "It is supposed to be like this!" and it is a matter of taste ... and even if one is the only person who likes something, one has "a right to it".
(the architect also must have thought something?)

Large windows have the advantage that a lot of light comes into the house and the view is great.
A disadvantage is that there are fewer walls inside with which you can do something.

The OP does not like it precisely and is therefore trying to compensate for what visually bothers her by using color.

What is not symmetrical cannot be made visually symmetrical either. You can bring more harmony into the appearance. I would connect the two windows on the right in between and the two windows on the top left. I would not do more than that.

yes, it is a new building and during the planning phase we planned from the inside out and I couldn't really deal with it at that time because I had just given birth and had completely different worries. I wanted the left window, for example, to be exactly like the lower one, but because the shower is there, the structural engineer and my husband preferred to keep it smaller. In my desired drawing, there were only 3 different windows on the front, but somehow we ended up with this form (I'm not building alone after all). I'm now trying to make it so that I actually like it...

On the other sides, I wouldn’t do any coloring and at the front I would only let it go up to the corner or stop exactly behind the downspout, if it runs there.
