What I want to suggest is not so much to work towards "the ideal house," but rather to enjoy a "house with character."
That should - also - mean: the solution to some problems does not lie "in things," but in the head and heart. This applies not only to the house you live in, but also to how you deal with life.
You can have the hope for an ideal life, but whether it makes you happy if you fixate on it is another question. Apart from the fact that you might overlook beautiful developments just because they are not how you once imagined them.
