So you want to lock up very small children at home while you are not there? Children who are not trusted to stay home alone are also not left at home. Besides the front door, you then have to lock all windows and patio doors from the inside. Do you want something like that with toddlers?

Yes. There was a case just a few weeks ago. The child was already asleep and the parents were at the neighbors'. The baby monitor was not heard or was broken. The two-year-old child eventually woke up, looked for the parents, and froze to death in the shed. I would definitely lock up in such a case.

Exactly, that's my plan. Although it’s also silly if I lose the key when I'm drunk. ;)

It was more about the case where you have small children who, for example, should not walk to the street unnoticed. Or like in our apartment building, I also don't want my 2-year-old child to play in the stairwell on the third floor. I prefer to keep the door locked. But that is only a short period during which the issue is relevant.

So we have the 3-point locking system, and I think it's cool. Whether a 5-point locking system is necessary, I don't know, but I believe if someone breaks in, it won't be through the front door that is always visible from the street.

Here is one of the 3 latches; I find the function cool—simple but effective.

When you press the handle, all 3 latches are retracted. Except for the small nose, when closing the door the nose activates the latch, and the door is locked in 3 places.

The motor lock is really great. I wouldn't want to be without it anymore. Combined with some kind of electronic key, you only need to carry the actual key for emergencies, in case the power ever goes out. It's especially practical when your hands are full. You don't have to put things down to use the key; you can open the door, for example, by pressing with your shoulder, and you're inside.
