You are still free to do that. You can always turn the key and lock as usual. Depending on the type of lock you have installed, there are different options.

The advantage is that the door is always locked, regardless of whether you have turned the key or not.

Do we really want to check every statement for its meaningfulness in terms of the thread creator? That would quickly make it quiet here. OP had various offers and was not clear about what to do. What harm does it do him (who has not even complained here so far) if he reads five more opinions? For example, I have read opinions in my house thread that I did not like or that did not fit the question. Nevertheless, the person took the time to tell me their opinion on the topic. So I read it and afterwards saw some things differently than before those posts. Surely I did not tell anyone that their post does not contribute to the topic. I really can’t understand the "upset." I installed a controlled residential ventilation system, although I thought it was nonsense, informed myself as best as possible about KNX etc. and then decided against it because I consider it USELESS FOR ME. For me! Why would you doubt that? I would call that a really factual explanation and I personally conclude that I would not even spend €10 more on it because it would bring ME no noticeable benefit. My buddy would not spend €10 on a nice picture, I would spend €1000 if I like it and have the cash. Ufff... maybe it's been Corona for too long or it's just Friday evening, time for the weekend... WOMMMMM

I appreciate you very much. Why do you emphasize that you have a controlled residential ventilation system? Why do you emphasize that you decided against KNX despite researching it? Completely unnecessary. You will soon have a great house. I'm sure of that! Again, why do terms like "absurd" have to be used in such matters? Has anyone here written that it is "absurd" not to install such a lock? Or not to have KNX? Or no pool? Or, or, or? We are in a house-building forum. People mostly come here with concrete questions and want support.

This often reminds me of my past nerd days: "Hello dear ‘here placeholder for any PC’ forum. I need a new computer. I would like to set up a network storage for my photos. In your opinion, which RAID, which CPU, and how much RAM are best?" Then answers come like: "Why all that? No one needs that. I've been fine with my USB drive for years." Zero meaningful content.

However, I agree with you. This discussion helps no one and has possibly driven away the original poster. That's why I'm just quiet. If I'm lucky, maybe someone will think about it. I'm constantly told I'm too thin. I once told someone they were too fat. No one is ever too ashamed to be thin...

Just as a pro argument for the older people here …. (because you can find yourself in a domestic emergency) …. from personal experience:

4 a.m. call, police and fire brigade are at the door, emergency, 20 km away, you set off with a key, 180 over the city highway, just arrive at the yard, the fire brigade has broken down the patio door. In the situation completely fine, with automatic remote unlocking, help would be faster and no material damage would have occurred at all. So this is not just nonsense ….

Dear
I "emphasize" that with controlled residential ventilation//KNX etc. to illustrate that sometimes I naturally have a preconceived opinion that comes from somewhere. Usually, you don’t even know what actually influences our decisions. I emphasize this because I sometimes marvel at myself and am glad that I can also be convinced by things that I previously considered unnecessary stuff.
"Absurd" or similar judgments wouldn’t please me either, I understand that, especially if they are held as universally valid.
For example, I know from my heating technology that it is regarded here as absurd or wrong, even if some modern architects or energy consultants endorse it exactly the same way; here it simply has no chance to be discussed, so I leave it and keep experiences, images, etc. to myself. In this respect, I understand the criticism of something being "absurd." It doesn’t get any better when such a view is generalized by the supposedly other side, as if there really were an old-young problem in this regard. From my point of view, it is sometimes more like young builders think as "old" as I unfortunately probably can’t become.
I count the users involved in this short quarrel among the few competent and more moderate participants whose posts I always enjoy reading. Since is no longer here, his free approach to so many things is missing anyway.
Recently, I was called an "old-timer" from a generation that has always had the gold flakes fall into its mouth anyway, because I presented my view from two different building periods, 1990 and 2021, and thought it might interest someone how it was back then, not just as a threat or know-it-all attitude. But I was apparently mistaken.
When presents her point of view here, I find it rather interesting; whether it fits me or not, I can decide for myself. As a non-car owner and self-confessed low consumer, she already does something that many here prefer to just talk about.

Now, I was not a "nerd," but have always been interested in innovation, so I know such annoying replies from the professional environment. Nevertheless, I can ask myself the question whether new means innovation (for me) or it is junk (for me), and some things are then junk (for me). For everyone else, it may be completely different.

Exactly that, namely being quiet, you should not do! There will always be a variety of answers and perspectives needed, we already have enough mainstream everywhere.

I already know one!
This is exactly what I repeatedly criticize, that people rarely want to seriously consider the other and defend their own positions to the knife. It is indeed so that our house here was influenced to a considerable extent by participating users. I found that very enriching, for which I am thankful. This applied equally to technical things as well as to individual experiences and personal life events. Unfortunately, these are becoming fewer and the technicians and calculators more, which I personally do not like.

I understand you! I know a young man to whom they always say first that he is so tall. He is a basketball player, but he was tall before anyway :D. Had nobody ever told someone clearly in front of my eyes that it annoys him, it could have happened to me too. Thin is considered desirable today; fat is always immediately antisocial. In Tonga, they see it exactly the other way around and are nevertheless happier than here.
So - enough chatting again. I am actually sure that we, who have now talked ourselves apart here, are fundamentally closer to each other than to many others here. After all, over time, you get to know the people.
Buenas noches.....

Would you now recommend a 3-point automatic locking front door to me? So that you don't always have to lock it manually

A front door with 3-point locking is sufficient

And we can also open the automatically locked door with [Nuki]
