Maybe you shouldn't stick too much to model houses, but simply tell the architect your wishes and needs. He has the site plan, he has learned and studied it. This way you are open to what can be. Whether someone sleeps well or badly upstairs or downstairs here shouldn't interest him or you.

Hello everyone,

in case anyone is still interested in this topic: after many planning rounds, we have now arrived at this draft plan together with our architect, which we like quite a bit.
Just as a reminder in case someone asks about the location: our building plot is oriented almost exactly to the north with a very slight slope towards the south.

The basement will be a pure "technical floor" with laundry, storage, and technical rooms.
The attic with a knee wall height of 1.40 m will be divided into an office, 2 potential children's rooms, and an additional bathroom.

We are currently considering whether to make all the windows in the attic floor-to-ceiling or only those of the south dormer, while using regular windows on the gable sides.

Hi,
you have obviously been brooding over the design with the architect for a long time, so you will probably like it just the same, even though I wouldn’t do many things that way. Just my 50 cents:

[*]The garage is outside the building window? Will you get that approved?
[*]The sealed area seems extremely large to me, do you have a floor area ratio of 0.7-0.8? You will need that....
[*]If you already put the master bedroom downstairs (which is very good for use in old age), then design the door widths at 0.9-1m so that you can get through with a walker / wheelchair.
[*]Floor-to-ceiling windows with glass protection on the outside look nice at first glance, but in my opinion are the combination of all possible disadvantages. An additional window surface to clean, cleaning only possible with mortal danger, do not bring more fresh air when ventilating than a normal window, and the usable space in the room is restricted.
    [*]Best regards, Andreas

unfortunately, they are not fully planned yet - we are still in the process of "moving walls" :)

Unfortunately, you can’t see any measurements. Are those really 15 sqm for the living room and likewise the dining room, compared to 22 sqm for the kitchen, or am I seeing this wrong? If that’s the case, I see the (entry) area on the other side by the entrance to the bedroom as unnecessarily large. The bathroom, on the other hand, is very large and yet it’s cramped between the sink and the door or apparently for that reason an unnecessarily expensive and less comfortable sliding door to the bathroom is needed, which I wouldn’t like. I would rather do without the pool and give the open-plan area a bit more space, like the area around the kitchen already has, without necessarily needing it. Basically, I can imagine it looking very nice if sparsely and simply furnished, but the generous kitchen/transition area is then accompanied by rather small living and dining rooms. You get the feeling that somewhere it ran out of space, which is also reflected in the sliding door, the outward-opening bedroom door, the narrow bathroom access, and the door sizes rightly pointed out by . By the way, how do you come up with the 18 sqm measurements for the terrace? If you want constructive-critical feedback, you should provide measurements, including those of the -real- furniture.
