Not at all, please feel free to continue the discussion. Although this isn't the flooring thread here, your discussion is valuable for my decision.

But I'll bring up another point again:
A few pages earlier, we discussed an open ridge in the upper floor. Meanwhile, we're considering installing a ceiling in the upper floor, which should then be a bit higher (possibly around 2.80m or so). However, then we have the problem that we could no longer install a skylight in the hallway or only with a strong tunnel upwards.

Now GU installed the Velux light tunnel and I read some information about the competitor product Solatube in other forums. What I gathered was: it works, it brings in light, Velux product apparently repeatedly has condensation problems, Solatube apparently significantly brighter because of the different construction on the roof.

Does anyone have experience or an opinion on this?

A year has now passed, what does the current construction progress look like - or have you already moved in?

Thank you for asking. We would like to live in the house already, but unfortunately everything is dragging on extremely.

Here’s a brief chronology:
August 2020 – Building application submitted
February 2021 – Building permit received (yes – almost 6 months later and that in beautiful Baden-Württemberg with a legal deadline of 3 months)
March 2021 – Start of detailed planning
June 2021 – hopefully start of construction

At first, the building authority took a lot of time and twice requested documents or changes from us. We had expected a permit within 3 months but had to wait twice as long.
Then, shortly before our building permit was issued, the contractor had already received approval for several other projects, resulting in a lot of work at the same time. For this reason, the detailed planning took over 3 months.

There was a change from the building permit compared to the building application that had to be followed up on (with a few technical challenges) and the entire sewage planning was not that simple either because all the bathrooms etc. are not stacked above each other. In addition, a few changes occurred to us in the last 6 months that we wanted to have changed. So we have now also decided at short notice on a laundry chute.

The planning is currently with the structural engineer, electrician, and plumber. We hope to get feedback within the next 1-2 weeks and then slowly be able to start.
I was aware that all this takes time but after more than a year I am now slowly getting impatient.

As soon as the plans are back and final, I will gladly post them here. We have made a few changes compared to the planning in the first post here.
