Thanks again to everyone for the comments.
We had an appointment with the general contractor last week and discussed the rough equipment so that an offer can be prepared afterwards. Everything was basically clear except for one point where we are unsure.
As can be seen in the plan, we have an open kitchen-dining-living area. The dining area and kitchen are completely open with a seamless transition. Therefore, we can hardly imagine dividing the flooring, as this would create an unattractive edge in the middle of the room.
So which flooring should we use?
Originally, we wanted parquet in the living area, but it is rather unsuitable for the kitchen.
Tiles in the entire area seem too "unhomely" and too cold (not referring to the temperature, but to the feel of the room).
Our general contractor recommended vinyl. It is currently used a lot and combines both properties. On the one hand, it is very durable and water-resistant; on the other hand, there are many designs and now also very high-quality vinyl.
I would be interested to hear your opinion on this. Or are there other possibilities that we are currently not considering?
//edit: One additional question: Parquet is a natural product and therefore automatically has different patterns. How does this behave with vinyl? Is there a variation per package, or does each "board" repeat the same pattern?
