I don't quite understand that. Is it too narrow or too wide for you now? Too much space wasted or is the sofa just positioned incorrectly? Complaints about too much space are rather uncommon, especially since I’m also convinced that the current dining area would be too tight and the table will still move to the center.

What are the dimensions of the staircase and what are the corresponding ceiling heights? That looks very tight.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I will try to address the different points:
- We would rather not have a utility room on the upper floor because of the noise from the washing machine and dryer. We still have a large attic as storage space, which we would like to use for sports equipment, bags, suitcases, etc.
- More storage space in the wardrobe is certainly true. You think the 2m closet next to the front door is not enough? How deep should a wardrobe be, then?
- The dining table is 1.60m long. The distance between the kitchen island and the window is 3m. Is that too narrow?
- The staircase is 3.50m long and planned as an L-shaped staircase. The ceiling height is 2.75m clear height.
- The budget is just for the house itself. Without furniture, without outdoor facilities or any incidental construction costs. I understood the question about the house costs in the questionnaire that way, but I can gladly adjust it if that’s possible...
- Yes, I mean the width in the living area. I can try rearranging with the dining table in the middle. I don’t want a long straight room for kitchen, dining area and living room. Since the south side is at the bottom of the plan for us, it would otherwise be little used. Besides, I find it nice when the space turns around the corner like that and the kitchen is not directly visible from the sofa. So that you don’t see the dirty dishes right away...

Do you maybe have any ideas to arrange it differently? Maybe that would also create more storage space on the ground floor.

Thank you very much for all the tips and ideas.

Unfortunately, I can no longer change the budget in the questionnaire. So we are at a budget of 360,000 euros for the house including ancillary construction costs, outdoor facilities, kitchen, etc. Plus the plot with all purchase incidental costs and demolition.

Is a staircase planned to go up there? Then please also include the attic floor plan!
If not, the room can be disregarded as storage space.

A wardrobe for a family of four should have a depth of 60 cm (closet), in the shell construction size one usually takes 65 cm.

That is very little. Commonly it should be > 3.50 m.

Who planned it? Please provide exact measurements. With a room height of 2.75 m, the story height is about 3.05 m. The first tread would have to protrude at least 1.70 m into the room with a steep 19 cm rise. That would not be possible. Or did you mean 2.75 m story height? In my opinion, 2.75 m room height at 145 m² would be disproportionately high.

- There will be a folding attic ladder to the attic. - Thanks for the notes on the dimensions for the dining table and the wardrobe. - We have a rough construction height of 3m on the ground floor, which results in a room height of about 2.75m. On the upper floor, the room height is then 2.55m. The staircase is to be quarter-turn and was calculated that way by the planner of the general contractor. However, maybe she did not consider the rough construction height increase on the ground floor. Is there a good website where you can calculate this yourself? Thanks!

- Toilet flush directly by the sofa --> inconvenient. - The dance hall between living and dining costs you a lot of money *Budget reicht nicht aus, are you such passionate dancers? - please also mark the cardinal directions, or is it oriented north?
